Rest in His Promise, It's Yours

Rest in His Promise, It's Yours

"Rest in His Promise, It’s Yours”

Genesis 2:2 says that on the seventh day, God rested from all His work. God wants you to rest. When you don’t rest in God’s promises, you enter into unbelief. We start to worry, we stress, and we take things into our own hands, when all God wants us to do is rest and live the good life. Abraham was a blessed man because of his faith, not because of his works. God imputes righteousness without works. No man is made righteous by the law, and if anyone lives by the law, he will have to do all the law. Let’s walk by faith and start resting in God’s promises today!

  • Law vs. Grace. In life, there are two ways you can do things -- the easy way or the hard way. Think about law as being the hard way. The law is a curse upon all mankind, none of whom can possibly fulfill its requirements. Those who try to live by the law do not bring blessings upon themselves, but instead curses. Galatians 3:10 says “Cursed is everyone who continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.” Grace is the easy way. Grace is everything good you don’t deserve. Unlike the law, grace doesn’t have a curse. With grace there is no bondage, no poverty, no sickness, no stress, and no labor. With grace, we rest in His promises.

  • The Grace Road. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,” (Psalm 23:4) We face many obstacles every day in our lives -- from dealing with the wrong people, doing the wrong things, and life just not going our way. Sometimes, it seems like we are in a dark valley trying to make it through. At times, we may try to give up; but, we must remember, if there’s darkness, light is soon to come. Jesus is that light. He is the reason we make it through the valley. When Jesus was in the wilderness, He was tempted by the devil many times. But He kept his faith and stood strong in His word. Jesus is in us so we have His strength to defeat the enemy and make it out of that valley. Let’s get out of that valley and hop on the Grace Road. On the Grace Road, God is our chauffeur. All we have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. Allow God to take control of the wheel in your life, while you sit back and enjoy the view on the Grace Road.

  • A Blood-Bought Right. Grace says,You have the right to remain blessed. Anything you say can and will come to pass in the court of Grace. You have the right to prosperity. If you cannot afford to be blessed, you shall still receive blessings anyway. Do you understand the rights I have read to you?” With these rights in mind, do you still have no faith in the grace of God? Jesus has done the Great Exchange. He is the lamb of God and has given you a blood-bought right to be free from all the curses of the law. Second Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

  • Think It, Believe It, Say It, Possess It:  Thank You Lord that I have a blood-bought right to all Your Promises and have been freed from the curse of the law. I understand that the Lord does not want me to labor in anything I do. I am free from worry, stress and anxiety. I have the right to a grace-filled life all by resting in His promises, in Jesus’ name. Amen!!
