Jesus’ Faith Brings Rest
Our faith is wavering (uncertain, shaky, unsteady) but Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, has unshakable (steadfast, immovable, unwavering) faith in Father God. We are living the blessed life because of our faith in Jesus. We know that the Lord is our Shepherd so we lack nothing (Psalm 23:1 NIV), and it allows us to enjoy the abundant life (John 10:10). Therefore, we do not ask Father God for our needs, we gladly thank Him and praise Him for what He has already made available to us by Jesus Christ. When we know whose we are, we will speak what we hear until we see what we have said. Example: Instead of confessing pain, we thank Jesus for restoring our health and healing us of our wounds (Jeremiah 30:17)! Resting in His faith means that we confidently cast our burdens on Him being fully persuaded that He shall sustain (support, maintain, help) us in every area of our lives (Psalm 55:22).
This believing belongs to Jesus. Mark 9 tells the story of a boy who had a dumb spirit. This spirit would lay hold of the boy, throw him down, cause him to foam from the mouth and grind his teeth. Having faith in Jesus, the father came to Him after the disciples were unsuccessful in casting out the spirit. He asked if Jesus could do anything, to have compassion on them to which Jesus replied, “All things can be (are possible) to Him who believes” (Mark 9:23 AMP). This believing belonged to Jesus. In the very next verse, the father of the boy proclaimed his faith in Jesus saying, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief” (Mark 9:24). Then, Jesus proceeded to do what only His faith could do -- He healed the boy. This case study is a result of what happens when we link our faith in Jesus to His faith, which is in Father God. Let’s operate in His faith today!
By Your faith, I am healed. Jesus was wounded for our transgressions (wrongdoings, disobediences), He was bruised for our iniquities (evils, wickedness): the chastisement (punishment, penalty) of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). By His unwavering faith in Father God, we are healed and we rest in this. Faith is a rest not of works. Hebrews 4:10 reminds us that he who is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His. Working to be healed is futile, but resting in our faith in Jesus will cause Him to restore our health and heal our wounds because He wants to perfect that which concerns us (Psalm 138:8)!
Have faith in God. Jesus has unshakable faith in God, and with His faith comes power. Therefore, He says a thing and then He sees that thing which He has said. Linking our faith in Him with His unwavering faith brings supernatural possibilities into our lives, dreams, relationships, financials, and health! The woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-22) was dying in the natural; but, when she exercised her faith in Jesus linking her faith to His, she was supernaturally made whole! Jesus instructs us in Mark 11:22 to, “Have faith in God.” This encouragement came after He (in faith) cursed a fig tree and it did wither. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8); and, He is still performing miracles here on Earth. Whatever you stand in need of, have faith in the Son of God. Link up with His faith which is unshakable, steadfast, immovable, and unwavering. When we do this, we put Father God’s “super” on our “natural” and all things can be (are possible) to Him who believes (Mark 9:23).
Think It, Believe It, Say It, Possess It: Thank You Lord for Your love, for rest, and for Your faith. Thank You that as we rest in Your faith, we are receiving health and healing of our wounds, we are living in houses we did not build, eating from gardens we did not plant, drinking from wells we did not dig. Help us to read Your Word daily and rest in Your promises, in Jesus’ name. Amen!!
