Live the Let-Go Life

Live the Let-Go Life

In the world, people are overwhelmed, bombarded by demands, responsibilities and deadlines. There are bills and debts to be paid, health issues to attend to, troubled children who need your immediate attention, endless emails and text messages to be answered, social media, the news and everything else demanding your attention. Father God is telling us, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). We must stop trying to do things in our own efforts and trust and believe in the finished work of Jesus. When you look to God/Jesus and cast your cares and worries to Him, He takes over and you rest. And, when you are at rest and when you remain in His peace, you will be able to make God-inspired decisions that will lead you to success, even miracles! That’s how God wants you to live every day. He doesn’t want you to live like the people of the world, all stressed out by the rat race. He wants you carefree and joyful, at peace and successful, stress-free and healthy!

  • Go to/ Look to Jesus.  Father God likes it when we come to Jesus in faith. It grieves Him when we hesitate to come to Him or try to depend on our own efforts. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6); therefore, we can come to Him and be assured of finding rest. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” We must put God first in everything we do, when waking up in the morning, making decisions throughout the day, and when going to bed at night. God is willing and able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We must learn to go to God for whatever we need and have faith in Him. We are married to Jesus, so don’t go around committing spiritual adultery (going to other people). Jesus does not turn away anyone who comes to Him for help. It’s time to stop “doing” more, and time to “see” more of Jesus.

  • Cast Your Cares and Worries to Him.  First Peter 5:7 says to cast all your cares (anxieties, worries and concerns) upon him; for he careth for you. Father God loves us and has prepared and provided everything we will need in this life. Matthew 6:25-34 reminds us that God will take care of you and to don’t worry. If it concerns you, it concerns God.  It’s time to let go and see His supply flow! When Jesus died on the cross, He paid for our health, provision, wisdom, favor, joy, peace, blessed marriages, and the well-being of our children. He paid for heavenly supply to flow into every area of our lives, bringing supply constantly into our lives. Don’t stop God’s flow by worrying -- Let Go and Let God!

  • REST.  In Genesis 2:1-3, it says that God rested on the seventh day from all his work; and, as he is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Just as God rested when his work was completed, we can rest because of Jesus finished work on the cross.  It is time to rest from our work, our own doing, us trying to do this and to do that. Jesus said in John 19:30, “It is finished”.  We must trust in that finished work and renew our mind to “resting.” Rest if not inactivity or no activity; rest is trusting in Jesus and allowing Him to lead us, guide us and direct us with is wisdom and His solutions. We must labor (work) to enter into rest (Hebrews 4:8-11). Genesis 6:8 says Noah (Rest) found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Hebrews 3:12 tells us to not have an evil heart of unbelief. Not entering rest is unbelief.  It’s time to get into the position of rest and watch God show up on your behalf. Don’t allow anyone or anything to get you out of rest. When the enemy comes through a person or situation, tell the enemy, “It is finished!” Use the Word!

  • Think It, Believe It, Say It, Possess It:  Lord, I accept each day as a gift. Help me Holy Spirit to follow the path and Your guidance for me as I let go and allow God to take full control of all my cares and worries. As I go to Jesus in every area of my life, I will find rest. Thank You for Your grace and provision that flows freely in my life as I live the “Let-Go” life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
