The Christmas Story
Jesus is the reason for the season. He was made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem us who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons (Galatians 4:4-5). The light of the world (John 9:5) took our place by dying on a tree (the cross) and becoming the greatest gift of all (John 3:16).
Born King. Our Savior was born King, not born to be King (Matthew 2:1-12). The wise men had a relationship with God and were therefore led by a star, which went before them, to Jesus (Matthew 2:9). They understood how to treat the King: they rejoiced with exceeding great joy (10), they fell down and worshipped Him and opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts -- gold, and frankincense and myrrh (11), and they were warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod so they departed into their own country another way (12). In the same way, we have a relationship with God made possible only by Jesus -- our Savior, King, Lord, Provider, Deliverer, Healer. Let’s begin to treat Him like the King that He is.
God With Us. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us (Matthew 1:23). Father God promises to never leave us nor forsake us, and His promise is fulfilled in Jesus.
Lord of Your Life. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11). Is Jesus the Lord of your life? When He is Lord, we spend time with Him, converse with Him regarding all decisions, and allow Him to lead us according to His will for our lives. His birth, ministry, miracles, crucifixion/death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven initiated from Father God’s love for the world (John 3:16). Allow Him to be Lord of your life, understanding that our lives are a small part of a much greater plan.
Think It, Believe It, Say It, Possess It: Thank You Lord Father God for Jesus and for orchestrating a divine plan to redeem us from death, hell and the grave. We thank You that all of our debts have been paid supernaturally and everything that we need to live this victorious, successful, abundant life is found in Jesus Christ our Lord. We worship You, praise You, and we rejoice with one another having received the greatest gift of all -- Jesus! In Jesus’ name. Amen!
