How to Use God's Power

How to Use God's Power

Focus/Meditate On This:

To use God’s power, first we must know what is God’s power. God’s Word (the good news) about Jesus Christ is God’s power for believers (Romans 1:16). God’s Word about Jesus contains God’s spiritual laws, and every believer has the authority to enforce God’s spiritual laws here on Earth as they relate to life and the finished works of Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:1, 7-8 & Luke 10:19) The Word of God is our weapon to use against the enemy. In Matthew 4:1-11 Jesus used God’s power by speaking God’s written word to defeat the enemy. Like the power company is a source of electricity to our homes, God’s Word is a source of His power to us here on Earth on a daily basis.

  • God’s Word is God’s Power. The Word of God contains God’s spiritual laws. God’s Word is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). God’s Word is so powerful, it divides asunder the soul and the spirit, even the joints and marrow. It knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts. God’s Word energizes, it analyzes, it judges, it sifts. God’s Word is powerful, and it never returns empty-handed, void, without producing any effect. God’s Word accomplishes that which God pleases and purposes, and it prospers in the thing for which God sends it (Isaiah 55:11).

  • Use God’s Word (Flip the Switch) -- It’s True, It’s Truth and It Works. The Word of God is truth (John 17:17), and it works; it does what it is supposed to do, what it is sent to do and when it is sent to do it (Isaiah 55:11). To use God’s power that is available to us and reap the benefits, we must practice using God’s Word; it works. God has supplied us with His Word (power); all we have to do is “flip the switch” or turn it on. How? By speaking it out of our mouths (1 Corinthians 4:13, believers speak). Faith speaks! (Romans 10:6).

  • Enforce Spiritual Laws (the Word of God). The local police have the law of the land and they operate in that. The police enforce the civil laws. We, Christians, have spiritual laws, God’s Word, and we operate in that; we are the spiritual police force in the Earth. A police officer has a uniform, a badge and a gun. We, believers in Jesus Christ, have the robe of righteousness, the shield of faith and our weapon is God’s Word. We have God’s power (God’s Word) here on Earth, and all we have to do is use it – believe it and speak it. God gave it to us to prosper us, to help us. We have the power to use God’s Word to arrest the enemy and throw him in jail when he breaks God’s laws wreaking havoc in our lives. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”

  • Listen to Jesus or Something About Jesus Every Day. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Christ).” When we hear the good news about Jesus and all He has done for us on the cross, we get in the spirit realm. We cannot stay in the natural and receive the spiritual things; we must get in the spirit. Pastor Hill said, ”If you don’t get the Word of God in you, then you are subject to the things in the world.” God’s Word comes to set us free from all the bondages and influences of the enemy; and, whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

  • Think It, Believe It, Say It, Possess It: Thank You Father God Your Word -- Your power -- that is available to us here on Earth. As we listen, read, study and speak Your Word every day, we learn about Your power that is available to us and how to enforce it or operate it in our lives. We thank You for the opportunity to “flip the switch” or turn on Your power on a daily basis. By practicing using Your Word, we enforce Your spiritual laws in our lives, in Jesus’ name. Amen!!
